Once upon a time Jo decided to knit a chicken.
At first it was hard and the needles broke but Jo persevered and finally she finished the chicken.
But the poor chicken had nowhere to live.
He looked everywhere: up and down......
back and forth and......
high and low.
He was very sad, then Jo had an idea. She decided to knit him a nest.
And the chicken lived happily ever after.
The End.

Chalkboard Eggs
What a fantastic idea, Chalkboard Easter Eggs! You make up coloured chalkboard paint, paint the eggs then chalk away!
The possiblities of coloured chalkboard paint are endless!
I'm off to have a good look round Cindy's very interesting site: Skip To My Lou.

Sewing Patterns
I have been looking (not very hard) for sewing patterns, just found some to download from the Craftzine site. Including one for this cool skirt.
Productive Afternoon
After a shaky start we had a very productive afternoon today, I made a banana loaf for the school cake sale on Monday with the help of boy01, both boys decorated egg shapes for school Easter Competition, made an Easter Card for Nanny and Drandran and made Cress Egg Heads.
I'll post more details on the cress growing once they have germinated.

Chunky Knitted Vest Top
I found a book in Catford Library called Big Knitting by Sophie Britten and I have started knitting a vest top using Sirdar Ultra Denim. I am always looking for patterns using 1 or 2 balls and this one uses 2. I have got upto shaping the armholes on the back, it's great knitting with such chunky wool.

Felting Experiments
Had a bit of Collinette Point 5 yarn left so I thought I have a go at felting it (or fulling it as I think it's called)
This is what it looked like to begin with;
then after washing in the washing machine with a full load at 40.
I also made a flower;
before washing
after
before
and after washing.
Not sure what I am going to do with them now, I might make the rectangle into a notebook. What this space.
Buttons
Just found something to do with all my buttons at the Matha Stewart site.
I wonder if you can get Martha Stewart t-shirts?

Received my matchbox of beads and buttons swap from Kimmie in Fort Yates, she lives on a Sioux Indian reservation, how cool is that.

Knitted Scarves
Here are some photos of the Riggs-Bennetts sporting their various Christmas and Birthday presents. They are looking rather mean and moody which isn't their usual look. They have just opened their new children's show 'Ball Pond Bobby' check out their website - DNA.

Paper Dolls and Knitted Bunny Dresses
Just this afternoon I was talking about the lack of paper dolls and low and behold I found the Wee Wonderfuls site where you can print of a sheet. I loved playing with paper dolls as a kid and I am very tempted to cut these out and have a play tonight!
