Long time no knit

Feels like ages since I have been knitting, actually it's was only yesterday. I started to knit a small square for a card when two little kittens decided that biting my needles was a good game.


Ginger and Nutmeg pretend to be socks.

I always feel a bit lost after I have finished a project, I have just finished a beret and a scalf (forgot to take a photo of the scalf) both for different swaps.

I have started to make (sew) a skirt, I brought one which was way to big from a charity shop and I have now unpicked it all and I have a pattern to make a new one.

Scottish Wool Centre

We had a great day out when we were in Glasgow at the Scottish Wool Centre.
There was a talk from a local shepherd about his work and the changing seasons and while he was talking there was a lady spinning.

I got a bit over excited about all the handspun wool on sale, I even brought a drop spindal and the wool on the spindal I spun myself.

This wool was spun my a lady called Jean. Most of it is from Scottish Sheep.

The Knitted Chicken

Once upon a time Jo decided to knit a chicken.




At first it was hard and the needles broke but Jo persevered and finally she finished the chicken.




But the poor chicken had nowhere to live.



He looked everywhere: up and down......


back and forth and......




high and low.

He was very sad, then Jo had an idea. She decided to knit him a nest.




And the chicken lived happily ever after.

P brought me this lovely Rowan pattern book and magazine. The book has loads of easy, chunky patterns, the ones in the magazine are a bit scary.
